Calix SMx - ONT Software Upgrade Through SMx

Step 1.

Navigate to https://www.calix.com/ and login

Step 2.

Hit the Jump To Page dropdown and select Software Center

Step 3.

Select Premises systems, the type of ONT you want to upgrade and the version you want to upgrade to

Step 4.

Download the software image zip file

Step 5.

Extract the zip file and then extract the zip file within the zip file to get the folder that you'll actually need. The folder that you need to add to the FTP server will have the manifestONT.xml file in it

Step 6.

Next, connect to the SMX FTP server using SecureFX or WinSCP

You'll want to drag and drop the folder into the folder labeled ONT Software on the SMX FTP server

Step 7.

Next, open SMX and navigate to workflows, software image, ONT and click the Add SW image button at the bottom of the list.

Step 8.

Fill out the required fields as shown. The test button will verify that the file directory is correct/reachable

Step 9.

Next, navigate to the Node that the ONTs you want to upgrade are connected to and hit the Actions dropdown on the far right and select ONT upgrade

Step 10.

From there, you'll select the software image that you just created and named in the previous step and select install in the top dropdown. Once this is selected, hit the upgrade button at the bottom.

Step 11.

check the status of the upgrade by going back to the node and selecting actions, ONT upgrade status. Once the upgrade is complete, repeat this

To complete the upgrade, repeat step 10 while changing the upgrade option from install to download, activate (service affecting), and commit in that order.
