Calix EXA - Provisioning Transparent LAN Service on Calix E7 GPON This doc covers the provisioning of a transparent LAN service between GPON ONTs on Calix E7 EXA. It is based on the configuration for Texas Star COOP Gin at Poka Lambro Telephone using VLAN ID 2105 between two ONTs on the same E7 and same PON port (NOC ticket 5328). Select a VLAN ID for the TLAN service (TLS). This VLAN needs to traverse the network path between the two ONTs. Even if the two endpoints are on the same E7 node, it would ideally be a unique VLAN not used anywhere else. This covers the case that the path between endpoints is expanded in the future or another use of this VLAN traverses this TLS path. Create the VLAN on the E7(s) where the endpoint ONTs reside. Use the default settings but check TLAN. If the endpoint ONTs are on the same E7 and same PON port, enable PON Hairpin. If the endpoints are on the same E7, the VLAN only needs to be added there. If not, add the VLAN to all E7s in the relevant ERPS rings and their ERPS ring interfaces. Configure it on any other devices as necessary to ensure layer 2 continuity between all endpoints. CMS will need to have a tag action set up for generic TLS services. These are the settings for the tag action. The match list needs to match all tagged and untagged traffic. Build the data service on each endpoint ONT GE port. Set a bandwidth profile, select the Generic_TLS tag action, and specify the selected VLAN ID as the outer tag. On each GPON port hosting an endpoint ONT, uncheck Split Horizon Enabled. Verify the TLS is working as expected.
