Calix SMx - Provisioning ONT
This KB will go through setting up a new subscriber and ONT through SMx. If you are having issues trying to log into SMx, open it in a private/incognito window.
Step 1: Login to SMx
Connect to the SMx IP address with port 3000 or 3443.
Use credentials in BitLocker or the default is admin/test123

Step 2: Create Subscriber in SMx
Go to the "Subscriber" tab at the top of the page.
You can search for the subscriber if they already exist in the system. If not, click "Add Subscriber Only" on the right side.

Enter the subscriber's account number and name in the boxes. Name and Acc. number are required, rest is optional. Fill out other boxes if you have the information.
Press submit when everything is correct

Step 3: Create ONT and Add Service
Under the "Subscriber" tab, select the account number of the user you are adding service to.

When the page loads, press "Add Service" in the top Left.

When the page loads, press "Create ONT" and fill out the information for:
- ONT ID (follow a scheme if they have one, else "Auto Generate")
- ONT Type (select Global)
- OLT should be filled in automatically
- Subscriber (Type or select the subscriber's account number)
- ONT Profile (Type of device the ONT is)
- Registration ID OR Serial # (RegID is input now then later on the ONT, Serial # is the CXNK number provided by tech on site)
- If RegID and Serial#, Serial# takes precedence so only need 1 or the other.

Press submit after filling the required boxes. Check the radial button for the ONT you made on the right and hit next at the bottom.
Select the ONT port that you are configuring for and select the Service Template.
After selecting the Service Template, most fields will be filled automatically. Change anything that is needed.

Press "Commit" at the bottom right of the page to save changes.
Step 4: Verify Connectivity
Back on the subscriber's page, the newly added service will show on the right.
Few things to check to make sure it is working properly:
- Oper State (Operational state, make sure it says Up)
- Link Status (should be confirmed)
- In the data or phone section below, press the eyeball button:
- Verify it has IPv4 address
- If using IPv6, verify as well
